PRESENTING LIKE A PRO

Does the suggestion of talking to a room full of people make you want to cut off your own arm or is it something you can do but don’t enjoy?

Either way, neither of those associations make for successful presenting experiences.

Come and join us in this workshop where we will help you find your happy place in front of an audience.

You will learn:

  • Own your space

  • Engage with your audience from the off

  • Make the ‘stuff’ you say ear grabbing and sticky

  • Understand how your mind, body and voice all need to work together and how to do it

  • Deal with tricky Q & A’s

During the workshop, we will *film you for the simple reason that watching ourselves is powerful.

*How we feel inside often doesn’t translate to what the world sees and together we will make that progression.

You will be given copies of all filming taken.

PERFECT PITCHING

If your pitching success rate is low to medium then this is the workshop for you (with your team/pitching colleagues if you are group presenting).

This will help you to bring your ideas off the page, making you and your presentation irresistible.

You will learn:

  • Structure your ideas to flow with punch and power

  • Tailor your pitch to your audience’s agenda not yours

  • Streamline your technical info to make the data pop

  • Hold the room with confidence and understand the power of rehearsal, iteration and distillation

  • Start with a bang/close with strength

  • Play to your audience and understand what will draw their attention

  • Manage your imagery and data - be eye catching and meaningful

  • Body/Voice/Mind (conviction, certainty) and know when to use the power of silence

  • Cement what you want your audience to remember

  • Finish on time

TOUGH CONVERSATIONS

We all hold painful memories of horrible conversations or confrontations. Some of the most anxiety ridden examples involve finding ourselves put on the spot or having to give and receive complaints. But honestly, most situations are a conversation away from improving.

In this clinic you will learn the art of crafting successful dialogue, so that in future you actively seek to use these skills as opposed to exercising your powers of avoidance.

You will learn:

  • The necessary elements of a valuable conversation

  • Strategies for coping with a variety of responses and openers.

  • To rehearse (generally nobody does). The beauty and benefits of this iterative process to identify what will be better following this conversation and have an outcome

** We will be using personal case studies  -  you will all need homegrown situations to practise.

TELL US YOUR STORY

Stories are the zeitgeist of this age. So what is your story? Which moments from your life communicate something about you in the way that you want? This is a workshop of self discovery, drawing upon your uniqueness, gaining an excitement and understanding about who you are and learning to impart that to others.

You will learn:

  • Formulate and mine your own memories

  • Craft and structure your story

  • Practise and finesse the personal story

  • Walk away with a bank of story ideas

Supporting you to be more... a case study

Thomaz worked in television production.  Over twenty five years, he had moved through the ranks working on a host of high profile programmes and alongside many acting and directing household names.  When he came to me he was nearing the end of an international collaboration but had nothing in the pipeline beyond that point.

In addition to sourcing new projects he was looking to create some major changes in his work set up.  Whilst still enjoying many aspects of production, he felt the regular travel, long hours and contractual nature was becoming less compatible with his other interests and family life.  Thomaz's two major blocks moving forward were connected with recognising and accepting what he had contributed to his success in the past, so that he was able to clarify what he wanted to do in the future.

Together we explored what was really important to him and what was driving certain behaviours.   From this he began to understand the elements of his leadership that were working and their correlation to running a successful team.  Previously, he had been blind to the contribution he was making to a culture  which allowed individuals and therefore the organisation to thrive.  His approach and style had been a large part of that contribution.  Knowing he possessed these traits and skills meant that not only were they replicable but he understood their value to other organisations.

Shortly after ending our sessions together he took on the role of Executive Producer for a multi-disciplinary Arts Centre and is Senior Consultant to a number of Large Entertainment Organisations.

HEAR FROM CLIENTS

I wholeheartedly endorse Suzanne's excellent work as an Executive Professional Coach. As a school leader and school governor of some long standing, I am mindful of the critical importance of maintaining a reflective attitude to the roles I occupy, so as to keep my thinking around school leadership and development fresh and relevant.

Suzanne's highly empathetic approach, combined with appropriate degrees of challenge, have motivated me in significant ways. I was able to consider my roles from both personal and professional angles in ways that I had not alighted upon on my own. I am an improved school leader as a consequence. I cannot recommend Suzanne highly enough.
