FAQ

1. What is a coaching relationship?

In broad terms this means I, the coach, will work with you, the client/coachee in a collaboration aimed to take you from a current state to a self identified desired state.  Together we will establish what it is you want to change or develop and from there we will form a plan for you to reach that goal/those goals.  There will always be an initial consultation, regular check ins to make sure we are on track and a debriefing session when we complete our time together.  One off sessions will be a truncated version of this approach.  Coaching is separate from therapy or counselling.  If, during our time working together any need for these other forms of psychological support arises, this will be discussed and likely you will be advised to seek appropriate support through those channels.

2. How much work is involved?

As much as you decide.  However, unless you’ve engaged in a one off Lightning package, there is an expectation that you will prepare for each session by reflecting on our previous meeting, the outcomes and learnings and to give thought as to what you want to tackle during the upcoming session.  Each coaching conversation will conclude with actions to take away and do.  Those actions will be set against broadly SMART principles designed by you and so should be achievable.  Obviously, if you don’t do them, we can discuss why and the impact that is having at the next session - there will be learning in that.  Without teaching grandma to suck eggs, it is largely a process of what you put in, you get out.

3. What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel an individual session, programme or clinic without charge, provided you give a minimum of 48 hours notice. Any engagement with less than 48 hours notice will incur a charge.  Of course, there are times when life is unkind and so in extreme unfortunate circumstances which result in you not being able to attend, no cost will be incurred.  This goes both ways, I will never cancel a session unless it is an emergency and if this happens I will let you know immediately and offer another session at your convenience.

4. What if I’m late?

In the event of lateness I will wait up to 15 minutes. However, the session will conclude at the normal time. If possible, let me know by text or email so that I am kept informed. If the start time is pushed beyond 15 minutes the session will have to be rearranged and the cost will still be incurred. If I am late, I will offer to make up the time at the end if that is possible or I will extend a future session at your convenience.  My intention here is about avoiding facilitating any late habits that don’t serve either you or me.

5. What do you do with my personal Information?

Any information or data collected from you is strictly for my own use in terms of arranging communication and logistics regarding our sessions.  As part of my ongoing development and maintaining coaching credentials I keep a coaching log.  This is my proof of work and lists all coaching hours completed and client contact details.  This data will only ever be shared with relevant regulatory industry bodies and no further.  Should you have any issues with this please let me know at the beginning of our work together.

6. What are your payment terms?

As is standard, I ask that you pay in advance of any sessions booked.  If booking a package 50% of the full fee is required 14 days prior to the first session with the remaining 50% to be paid by mid point of the package.
